A beginners guide to self-confidence

Self-confidence is a delicate art, and mastering it can take years of love and nurture. While it can be a tricky concept to navigate, I believe that self-confidence is critically important our overall emotional wellbeing so it’s important to put in the work.

So, how does one build their self-confidence? Read on to find out!

Accept yourself

Accept yourself, embrace yourself, love yourself. There is only one of you, and that is a beautiful gift in itself. Nobody is perfect, but that doesn’t mean you aren’t incredible. Each and every day you have lived so far has shaped you into the person you are now – so celebrate yourself! Instead of being your worst enemy, focus on being your best friend.

Show some compassion

We all have an inner mean girl. She’s had her power for long enough, and it’s time to practice a little kindness and care. Until we learn to practice self-compassion, we aren’t capable of loving ourselves. When we don’t love ourselves, we are more likely to experience emotional, spiritual and mental wounds.

Use your tools

In my opinion, mirror work is one of the most effective methods when it comes to learning to love yourself and being able to view the world as a safe and welcoming environment. Mirror work goes hand in hand with affirmations, as the most powerful affirmations are those we can say out loud – to ourselves.
